The President's Award for Outstanding Achievement

The Royal College of Anaesthetists is committed to supporting postgraduate medical students with an interest in anaesthesia and related specialties. Accordingly, in partnership with the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia, it has established the President's Award for Outstanding Achievement. This is usually presented as part of the NIAA Study Day for Academic Trainees by the President of the RCoA. Details about previous winners can be found here.



The President's Award for Undergraduate Research

In partnership with the Anaesthetic Research Society, the Royal College of Anaesthetists has established the President's Award for Undergraduate Research to support undergraduate medical students with an interest in anaesthesia and related specialities.

Accordingly, Awards will be given for:

  • clinical research or audit; and
  • laboratory-or model-based research

Medical students who have undertaken research projects as part of their training are invited to submit an abstract of their work and present this at an ARS meeting. Posters are judged by an experienced panel of researchers and awards are presented by the President of the RCoA.
